First day in Del Rio. Breakfast and devotions at the Faith Mission. Pat gave his message from John 16:8, 2 Cor. 7:9-10, and 2 Cor. 4:3-5. He talked about how the Spirit and not us is the one that convicts the world concerning sin, righteousness, and judgment. He talked about the difference between Godly sorrow which leads to repentance and worldly sorrow that leads to death. Finally he pointed out that unbelievers are blinded to spiritual truth. As we attempt to share the gospel, we need to invoke and involve the Spirit of God.
Our projects included the Perez School Cafeteria, Tierra Nueva Church, the Esperanto home, Joy Tours, and the food crew. We had lunch at Pan Am Church. It was Dave Coryell’s 70th birthday today so we were blessed with some wonderful cake. After lunch the crews were shuffled and then sent out to the same list of projects. I heard that the Joy tours were very fruitful.
A few of the crews had a fairly long wait at the border this afternoon. We had our steak dinner at Faith Mission. Ice cream for dessert! We had the Power Store tonight. Seems like there was a good turn out. Finished the day with late night prayer.
