What a day! The 46 men that make up week two of the 2024 power mission trip, started off by heading to Reynosa and participated in phenomenal music and devotions led by our very own, Tim James. His message was “I will not be ashamed” which spoke to me personally. Then off to the projects where 5 teams worked on: the power warehouse, Refugio classroom, apartments in Kaleo, painting, and also Bible delivery.
The highlight of the day was eating lunch with almost 80 children from the children’s Haven International Orphanage. What a wonderful ministry, this orphanage supports. Two quick stories:
A family with five children with an irresponsible single mother were dropped off. The Refugio Orphanage (Spanish name) cared for them and treated them for malnutrition. Fast forward a year later and the five children ages 4-9 are absolutely thriving.
Another story of little boy who was dropped off by his mother at school and she never picked him up. Very sad. But luckily he found his way to the orphanage and he’s also doing great, just six months later. Praise God and bless this ministry! I can’t wait to write you tomorrow after we host festival at the orphanage where we expect to have 1,500 guests!
