Great devotions today by Clay Ramirez on Hebrews 3:1-3. He challenged us to dream big and trust God as we put our confidence in Christ for unseen things. The theme this week is to have fearless faith. Today we will put that into practice as we go out on one of three building projects and a JOY tour.
Work on Javier’s house proceeded well today. The left and right side frames were built with many hands even from some like me with little carpentry skills. Paul was a gifted and very patient teacher.
Others worked on the school cafeteria. One wall was up by lunchtime and work continued on another wall in the afternoon. Some were painting, some framing, others began to cover another frame with felt and outside wall. We’re looking forward to see how God will use this place for His glory!
Several of the men went on a JOY trip. They were able to go to a few churches and an immigration center. The men told them about Christ and several gave their testimonies of how God is at work in their lives. The younger men were impressed by the response of the people and jumped right in to share and participate. Two of the new guys Alex and Trevor said they felt it a privilege to share in the experience and encouraged the migrants to live in light of eternity.
The medical mission project is on track and we heard that it really looks good.
Tonight for dinner it was Brats, corn on the cob, salad, baked beans and baked macaroni and cheese. For dessert we had ice cream sundaes. They always feed us well!
We closed in prayer and dismissed to visit the POWER store, clean the vans, had late night prayer and some free time. Tomorrow we work in the morning and then travel to McAllen.
It was a wonderful day sharing jobs, fellowship and experiencing God at work in us and with us.
What will God have for us tomorrow?
